Sport Recovery THerapy

Optimum Bodywork

For Athletes & Active People

Sport Recovery Therapy is a new generation of athletic bodywork that combines advanced massage techniques with proven rehabilitation protocols. This isn’t your typical sports massage! Each session begins with a thorough assessment of your movement patterns, pain points, and performance goals.

The session includes our famous Thai Sport massage techniques but adds specialized therapy as needed.

PNF Stretching

Active PNF stretching techniques that enhance flexibility and range of motion beyond conventional stretching methods.

Dynamic Soft Tissue Release

A manual technique that targets specific areas of muscle tightness by applying focused pressure while moving the muscle through its range of motion. This method helps alleviate tension, improve flexibility, and enhance overall muscle function.

Active Release Techniques (ART)

Addresses specific adhesions and scar tissue that limit performance

Benefits

Enhanced Recovery Between Training Sessions

Research shows that advanced recovery techniques can reduce DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) by up to 30% compared to passive recovery methods. Our specialized protocols help flush metabolic waste products while promoting nutrient delivery to damaged tissues, shortening recovery windows and allowing for more consistent training.

Improved Athletic Performance

By systematically addressing restrictions in muscle tissue, fascia, and joint function, Sports Recovery Therapy helps athletes achieve:

  • Increased power output during explosive movements

  • Enhanced endurance through improved biomechanical efficiency

  • Better coordination through optimized neuromuscular function

  • Greater flexibility and range of motion in sport-specific movements

Injury Prevention and Management

Our advanced diagnostic approach identifies potential problem areas before they develop into injuries. For existing injuries, our targeted treatment accelerates the rehabilitation process while addressing the root causes—not just the symptoms.

Sport Recovery FAQ

  • Thai massage is a unique form of massage therapy that combines acupressure, yoga-like stretching, and deep tissue work to create a holistic healing experience. Unlike traditional swedish massage, which primarily focuses on relaxation and superficial soft tissues, Thai massage engages the entire body, encouraging energy flow and flexibility. The massage therapist uses their hands, knees, legs, and feet to move the client into various positions, which helps to release muscle tension and promote overall well-being.

  • The benefits of massage therapy, especially Thai massage, are extensive. This type of massage may help to reduce stress, alleviate chronic pain, enhance flexibility, and improve circulation. Additionally, Thai massage is known for its ability to address specific health conditions such as fibromyalgia and back pain. Regular sessions can lead to long-term improvements in muscle tension and overall physical and mental health, making it a powerful tool for wellness.

  • You can expect a nurturing and energizing experience. The massage therapist will guide you through a series of stretches and deep compression techniques while you remain clothed in your underclothing or a Thai outfit. The session typically lasts between 60 to 120 minutes, during which the therapeutic massage will aim to harmonize your body.

  • We have made a number of improvements that make it more flexible as well as more effective for western lifestyles. This includes a physiotherapeutic approach to your body instead of the traditional acupuncture lines, as well as a broad range of enhanced techniques based on modern bodywork.

  • This therapy is designed as a body maintenence solution and monthly sessions should be adequate for most clients. We do recommend bi-monthly when in training to avoid injuries and to better prepare your body for high levels of activity.

  • Yes, since we are an out-of-network provider for PPO, all of our members are licensed with either CMT or HHP certifications. So whether your massage therapist has years of prior experience or is newer to the field — we ensure that our standards of care are the highest in the industry.

  • Yes, there are many benefits. The passive stretching in Thai massage helps lengthen muscles and fascia that have become shortened due to lifestyle, injury, or repetitive movements. This directly improves your joint range of motion and overall mobility.

The yoga-like stretches also create space in compressed joints, relieving pressure and potentially reducing pain from conditions like arthritis or repetitive strain.

Other benefits include muscle tension release, stress relief, and enhanced circulation.
